What is favicon.ico (Icon file) ??

Picture Icon is a small image that appears in the browser exactly at left side of  address when your website is accessed by visitors, maybe not all browsers will display the icon but Firefox show (please try access this page use Firefox).
Images are located in each folder templates, using an image file with extension ico, usually small in size approximately 16 x 16 Px, can be static or animated images.

How to install an icon in your Joomla sites?

1. Look for ico files are placed, usually in the folder templates, eg for milkyway template:
 domain/templates/milkyway/images/favicon.ico
2. Rename new file icon with name in no.1
3. Copy and paste/replaced with new icon file.
4. Open browser (eg Firefox) please see,  have it changed with the new one?.
